A clearer starting point

Precalculus is where separate skills become a connected model.

AP Precalculus asks students to interpret functions, compare representations, describe change, and build models. A student may remember a formula yet still need help deciding what the formula means or when it applies.

Tutoring emphasizes the structure of a function: its inputs and outputs, transformations, rate of change, important features, and connection to a graph or context. Algebra and trigonometry are reinforced as tools for that reasoning.

01

Current-course clarity

Unpack difficult lessons, assignments, and assessments without losing sight of the larger unit.

02

Foundation repair

Strengthen algebraic manipulation, equation solving, graph interpretation, and notation as needed.

03

Calculus readiness

Develop the function fluency and explanation habits that make the transition to calculus smoother.

What we work on

The ideas beneath the formulas

Students practice describing what a function does before rushing into calculation.

01

Polynomial and rational functions

Analyze end behavior, zeros, discontinuities, and meaningful features of models.

02

Exponential and logarithmic functions

Connect repeated change, inverses, equations, graphs, and real contexts.

03

Trigonometric functions

Build unit-circle fluency and use periodic behavior to interpret equations and models.

04

Multiple representations

Move between symbolic, graphical, numerical, and verbal information with purpose.

The teaching process

A better study process—not just another answer.

  1. 01
    Connect

Link the current topic to the prerequisite function and algebra skills beneath it.

  2. 02
    Represent

Use graphs, tables, equations, and words to make the same relationship visible in different ways.

  3. 03
    Apply

Practice choosing and explaining a method in unfamiliar or AP-style contexts.
